Laura, Are we from the same SMITHS? My great-great grandfather is Elias Decker Smith (born 1817). He and his wife Mary E. __________ had seven children: Mary E. (my gr-grandmother who married William A. Fisher); Ellen, Andrew, Adaline, Will, Catherine and John D. We may have no connection whatsover but I have to persue every Smith opportunity. Hi Laura, Daniel is buried in the Blencoe Cemetery in Blencoe, Iowa.
John Hogancamp is buried in the Iowa River Cemetery in Marshall County, Iowa.

My intention here is encourage users to submit any information they may have photos and or stories as they resurface from the chest of things handed down through the times.
This is just the beginning and if anyone has suggestions or corrections I urge you to enlighten me.
I created this site to honor those from our area who have long since been gone but their efforts still resonate today as we contemplate how our nation will endure the hardships of the 21st century.
