This group had a following in Sullivan County, NY and Pike County in Pa., where Charles VanWyck was laid to rest, they disbanded and a group from Pine Bush gave it a try. They too disbanded for lack of public interest, can you imagine. It all comes down to networking and making it an ineresting learning experience. Sure it does cost quite a bit of money to outfit yourself with all of the particulars, I too once belonged to the 124th NY "Orange Blossoms", under Chuck LaRocca, educator and reenactor/ living historian from Orange County, NY. This group has been active lately in the Goshen area of Orange County, at the Historic Hill Hold Museum.

I am looking into the 56th further and will keep you posted.

Laura

Thanks Laura..as I mentioned I have some good papers from the Library of Congress on how Hugh Galbraith's family struggled to receive his pension from the war after he was killed..plus some papers on how the doctor tried to remove the bullet from his head..amazing stuff

Now if we could only get a company picture..however if found i'm sure it would be with unidentified names.

Hi Laura do you know James Pollard.
Laura this is his message. Sounds like spam?

How is everything with you, I picked interest on you after going through your short profile and deemed it necessary to write you immediately. I have something very vital to disclose to you,but I found it difficult to express myself here, since it's a public site.Could you please get back to me on ( mr.jamespollard1@yahoo.com ) for the full details.Have a nice day
Thanks God bless.

I just got one from him, too!!  Sounded fishy
