Hudson Valley New York - Civil War Volunteers
Asa Clyne a noted businessman from the Town of Wawarsing Port Ben had a store just off the D&H Canal stop in Wawarsing. He enlisted with the 19th N.Y.V.I. in May of 1862 faught valiantly then went on to enlist in the Irish Brigade 63rd Regiment Company E. Wounded in St. Petersburg and taken prisoner to Andersonville he endured the horrors of that prison along with several of his friends and comrads from Ulster County.
Burried with his family at the Fantinekill Cemetery in Ellenville, NY.
