Hello,

I am a new member from Sullivan County. 'Brass buttons and Leather Boots' was first published in 1963 by the Sullivan County Historical Society and we are thinking of bringing it back in print.

If anyone knows of any errors we would appreciate hearing from you.

Thank you,

Just recently this sword came up for auction on ebay. There may have been another sword manufactured in Napanoch, for the purpose of providing the Union Army with a large amount of these if it cleared government inspection. If anyone has anything to add please do and remember it's the little things we do to preserve our history that make us great.

I am part of a group creating a new Civil War park in Stafford County, Virginia. In that park are 3 significant fortifications that we believe may have been built by, or at least manned by, the Ulster Guard. Anyone having letters, diaries or other information written by or about the Ulster Guard's stay in Stafford County during the winter of 1862-63, I would be very interested in seeing them. I have read Mr. Osborne's fine book and the diary of Colonel Gates. Any help would be greatly…

During the next four years we will be commemorating the anniversary of the day the history on these pages sent men down country to meet their fate. On these pages there will be a place for those interested to share and perhaps descendants of these men will find respect and pure patriotism towards these soldiers. We thank them and honor them,...

Together we can achieve all of the goals needed to educate, enlighten and encourage the curious to be well informed. The facts are so important when discussing this War of the Rebellion. Be a part of this group of dedicated volunteers who unconditionally give of themselves for the benefit of remembering what our brave soldiers did for our Nation.
